Host settings

You are the host: the fights' speed and the planning time are yours to set, for everyone. A change takes effect from the next planning phase.

How to play

• Your Captain, picked on the start screen, is your avatar, and coaches from its floating perch beside your board: it cheers your knockouts and celebrates your wins. Your arena is picked next, on the Arena Select (or Random), and is yours for the run.
• Buy fighters from the shop at the bottom. 🔓 above your gold locks the shop (🔒): the same fighters stay round after round until you unlock it (a paid Reroll still rolls).
• Drag them from the bench onto your blue hexes (drop one on another to swap them), or tap a fighter and then tap a hex.
• Sell by dragging a fighter onto the shop bar, with E over it, or (on a phone) by tapping it and then Sell above the shop. Mid-fight you can sell from the bench; the fighters on the board are busy.
• Camera: zoom with the scroll wheel, a pinch, or ＋ / － in ⚙️ Settings; turn it with a right-click (or middle-click) drag, or two fingers on a touch screen. A left-click or one finger is for your fighters: dragging one never moves the camera. 🎥 beside the music puts the camera back.
• Tap any fighter to see its stats and skills, or a trait to see which fighters have it.
• Warm-ups: a run opens with fighters warming up on the Grand Line deck (a round ship's deck out at sea, a pad for each, Laboon rising behind it), and only then: from then on each stage's Captain Recruitment brings its free fighters. Each has an item over its head: tap one to claim the fighter and the item. The fighters and the items get better stage by stage, Goku is always among them, in the spotlight, and rivals lower on health than you pick before you: what they took is gone when the warm-up opens. Your own fighters step off the board for it.
• Every fighter is a drawn hero with three abilities: an innate that's always on, a signature at full mana, and an awakening once per fight at 40% HP or after 3 signatures.
• Keys: D reroll, F buy XP, E sell the fighter under the mouse, Space shows the augment picker, 1–3 pick an augment, Esc close a panel or deselect.
• ⚙️ Settings, top right, holds the rest: fight speed (the host's settings online), a new run or online play, sound effects and music, fullscreen, zoom, the camera, every fighter's card, the battle log, the tour and this help.
• Three copies merge into a stronger star. At 3★ a fighter starts with mana and its Awakening reaches the whole board (a few keep their full blow for one target and hit the rest for less). Goku (Super Saiyan, Ultra Instinct) and Luffy (Gear 2, Gear 5) transform.
• Items drop as components into the item bench under the shop cards (a fair mix: your drops come from a bag of 3 of each), and each warm-up fighter carries one; hover or tap an item to see what it does. A stage's last round drops loot orbs of items and gold, more of them and better as the stages go (finished items, then specials); online every player's orbs hold the same kind of reward, each with their own items. Tap one, then another to forge them (any two combine, and the recipe card shows what each pair makes), or tap a fighter to equip it. Fighters hold 3 items, and a component given to a fighter holding one forges on the fighter. While you plan, a forge (and the Capsule Corp anvil's pick) plays a short phrase of falling arrows: the item is made either way, and hitting every arrow with ← ↓ ↑ → (or the pads) adds a bonus component (1 a stage: the stage's first flawless phrase pays it). Spatulas are rare finds, in the loot orbs and over a warm-up fighter's head in the later stages: they make trait emblems, and two make the Pirate King's Crown (+1 team size). From stage 6 your shop sometimes sells a God Ki Crystal for a 3★ fighter (10 gold).
• The pool is shared: every fighter has a limited number of copies (22 of each 1-cost down to 9 of each 5-cost), and the ones you and the other players hold can't show up in your shop.
• Augments: at stages 2-1, 3-3 and 4-3 you choose one of three (Silver, Gold or Prismatic) that changes the rules for you for the rest of the run. Hide the choice to look at your board first; you can't fight until you pick. Each card has its own reroll, 1 gold for a fresh augment of the same tier, 1 time a card. Yours show above the shop.
• Ki & Haki Surges: the glow under a fighter's feet is its Spirit Energy, full every 12 s of fighting. A Dragon Ball fighter then lets off a Ki Explosion (adjacent enemies knocked back, its mana refilled, 30% faster attacks for 4.8 s; a Saiyan at full Zenkai), a One Piece fighter a Conqueror's Haki Burst (enemies within 3 hexes lose 20 mana and their next attack misses). An Emperor's crew surges 25% sooner.
• Gold after each fight: a base (5; stage 1's fights pay less, growing round by round), interest on what you bank, a streak bonus that grows whether you win or lose in a row (up to +3), and +1 for the win. Hover the numbers on the shop bar for the exact figures.
• Crowd control fades with repeats: a second stun, root or sleep within 6 s lasts half as long, and a third is ignored and makes the fighter immune for 3.6 s. Mortal Wounds from burns and Giant's Club cut healing by 33%. A fight still on after 40 s goes to overtime: healing 50% weaker and every blow a little harder each moment; at 50 s it ends, and the side with more of its health left wins.
• Missions: solo or online, round 1-6, stage 1's finale, is a boss fight for your Captain instead of a fight: Raditz for a Dragon Ball Captain, Buggy at Orange Town for a One Piece one. First the strikes: a key shows in the middle of the board with a ring closing on it; press it (the arrow keys ↑ ← ↓ →, or W A S D; on a phone swipe its way on the board) before the ring closes and your Captain lands a blow (right on the ring is PERFECT). A miss (the wrong key, or too slow) is his blow: 25 of your 100 health in that fight, and he gets away if it runs out. Land 4 and MASH! flashes: for a few seconds press ← and → (or swipe left and right) in turn as fast as you can to push your beam into his; the beams start even, and whoever is ahead at the end wins. You lose no health that round, and your medal pays a component and up to 3 gold (more for a K.O. with no key missed, the most with every strike PERFECT). Too fast? Mission assist in ⚙️ Settings slows the ring.
• Seven rounds a stage: four fights against other players' boards (X-1, X-3, X-5, X-6) and three of the stage's own events, where nobody loses health and your streak stands. X-2, Captain Recruitment: your Captain meets enemy fighters from the shared pool (2 in stages 1-3, one stronger one from stage 4); it fights them one at a time, with the Captain Clash's buttons (below), on one short clock of 15 s that stands still in a clash, and only the ones it knocks out join your bench as 1★ fighters (no room on the bench: it waits through the next planning for you to free a slot and Take it, or to Let it go; at the next fight it joins if there is room by then, else goes back to the pool, never for gold). In 50% of recruitments one of the enemies is a fighter you already have (never the stage's dearest find): beat it for another copy. Your Captain's health and Ki carry from one enemy to the next, and the Ki it earns fills its Awakening: once the meter is full, ↑ plays its Ultimate, and every arrow you then hit in time adds to the blow. From stage 2 the round pays the stage's item whatever happens; a Captain that does nothing recruits nobody. Before X-4 of stages 2 and 4, the Rift Exchange: everyone at once, on one 12-second clock, may send one 1★ fighter from the bench into the Rift and take one of up to 3 other fighters of the same cost from the shared pool (fewer if fewer are left). It costs and pays nothing: equipped items go back to the item bench, the newcomer arrives as a 1★ with no items and merges as usual. Skip, or Keep after opening, leaves your team as it is, and the clock running out undoes an unfinished exchange (it never picks for you). With no 1★ fighter on the bench there is nothing to send, and nothing else is given. The same stages keep their shared carousel at 2-6 and 4-6 (and 3-6 has one too): the Rift and the carousel never fall on the same round. X-4, the Captain Clash: your Captain against your rival's, live, 110 health each over 20 s (sudden death if it's level on damage). ← Quick Strike, which beats a slower blow; → Heavy Strike, slow but it breaks a guard held too early; ↓ Guard, held (begun just before a blow lands it's a Perfect Guard, which wins you Ki and the next move); ↑ Ki: a blast, your Captain's Signature at 50 Ki or its Ultimate at 100, once (the arrow keys, or W A S D; on a phone swipe on the board: left, down and hold, up, right; a game controller's D-pad, face buttons or left stick). Clean hits chain into combos, pressure swings the momentum bar, two blows that meet become a fist or beam clash (press the arrows it shows, in turn) and an Ultimate is answered the same way to cut its damage. Every stage adds a rule of its own (Overcharge, Heavy Pressure, Counter War…). Every Clash, your first at 1-4 too, opens on the VS card and a 3 s count-in, then FIGHT! (presses wait for it); online the count-in starts on the server's clock for both of you, as soon as both screens are up (2 s at most). X-7, the stage's finale: stage 1's is your Captain's mission (above); from stage 2 your board fights a squad of story enemies, the Ginyu Force at 2-7 and Baroque Works at 3-7, then the two in turn, stronger each time, whose five members share an origin trait of their own and fight at its full strength: the Ginyu Force's Pose (every Signature they cast powers them all up, and a few poses in, every Awakening goes off at once) or Baroque Works' Bounty Hunters (extra true damage on anyone stunned, rooted, silenced or charmed, and stronger with every takedown). The stage's loot orbs come after it. The Clash's winner picks one of 3 components with some gold, the loser gets the bag's next with a little less.
• Seven rivals are on the right with their health. You fight one each round; knock them all out to take 1st place.
